Busy weekend for the club

This weekend sees us participate in two competitions with members taking to competitive swimming for the first time in 2022.

Saturday sees our younger swimmers take part in the Chorley and Leyland Shrimps Gala, which will be held at Leyland Leisure Centre this year.

This gala is a great opportunity for all of our young swimmers to experience what it is like to race competitively against swimmers from another club in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. The events are 25 metres in all strokes and it will be the first time many of the swimmers represent our club at an external event.

Sunday we take part in the North Lancs Swim League, which is a competition for clubs affiliated to the North Lancashire Swimming and Water Polo Association. Our Senior A Team is in Division 1 and Senior B Team in Division 2. The league runs from January to July with three galas for each team.

We’ll let you know how we get on next week and if you’re interested in learning more about our external competitions you can read more on our webpage here.

Don’t forget all training is cancelled at Leyland Leisure Centre on Saturday and there will be no morning training on Sunday.
