The Club Championships (aka Annual Gala) are held annually in November. They have evolved since 2014 and consist of both Heats and Finals. This now takes place mainly over a single weekend, but with 25m heats being held on a earlier weekend.

This is our biggest internal competition and is open to all swimmers aged 7 and over (as at 31st December in the year of the competition). The competition consists of 25m, 50m and 100m events in all individual strokes, and 100m and 200m Individual Medley, with age defined groups for each event. Finals are swum in all events and there are also B Finals if there are sufficient qualifiers from the Heats. The Gala is licensed at Level 4.

All swimmers in the finals receive trophies and there are also trophies for the best boy and girl in junior and senior age groups.

Our Annual Sprint Gala is usually held in late Spring at Leyland Leisure Centre. This competition is open to any member of our club who will be aged 9 or over at 31st December of that particular year.

Events for this competition are 50m and 100m of all 4 strokes plus a 100m Individual Medley event.

Our Annual Junior Sprint Gala is usually held in early Spring at Leyland Leisure Centre. This competition is open to any member of the club who will be aged 9 or under at 31st December of that particular year. This competition is a great opportunity for our younger swimmers to experience racing events as they work their way into the coming North West Micro League season.

Events for this competition are 25m of all 4 strokes, 50m freestyle (8 & 9 year old), 50m backstroke (8 & 9 year old) and 100m individual medley. When possible, the 50m events are licensed at Level 4.

Our Annual Distance Gala is usually held in late Spring at Leyland Leisure Centre, licensed at level 4. This competition is open to any member of our club who will be aged 9 or over at 31st December of that particular year.

Events for this competition are 200m of all 4 strokes, 400m freestyle, 400m individual medley, 800m freestyle, 1500m freestyle. Age restrictions apply to certain events.

Our Annual House Gala is held in September at Leyland Leisure Centre, it is not an individual licenced meet. Each swimmer is allocated into a house, based on the club’s 4 founding members; Fitchie, Forrest, Mills and Hunter.

The afternoon is a fun-filled and extremely noisy occasion of mixed 25m and 50m relay races and fun races (woggles), and is open to any member of our club.
