Swimmers gain Swim England pathway selection

In what has been a challenging time for our athletes we are delighted to announce that the following swimmers have been selected to be part of Swim England development pathways.

Congratulations to:

Emily Wade, Hannah Morris and Ethan Roberts who have been selected for the national Swim England pathway; and to

Regional swimmers selected for SENW pathway this session

Hannah Morris, Ethan Roberts, James Handford, Tom Arkwright and Amelie Elliott who have been selected for the SE North West pathway.

This is a fantastic opportunity to train alongside other selected athletes from across the country/region and to have the opportunity to learn more about physiotherapy, nutrition, strength and conditioning and how to look after themselves to become stronger athletes.  Swim England are also exploring the potential to take the athletes to Belgium in January 2022 to compete in the Flanders Competition in Antwerp.

When asked, senior swimmer James Handford said he was looking forward to the year ahead – “I’m really pleased to have been accepted onto the programme.  I am hoping that I’ll be able to work with someone on an individual basis to improve my strength and conditioning.  I’m also looking forward to doing some 50m training and after having minimal chance to compete over the last 18 months I’m excited about a possible competition in Belgium.”

Congratulations to you all, enjoy and make the most of this fantastic opportunity.  We are all very proud of you.
