Tom secures place on DiSE Programme

Tom Arkwright has been successful in securing a much sought after place on Swim England’s Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) programme. The programme is managed by the Swim England Talent Team in conjunction with Loughborough College and is integrated into the Swim England Talent Pathway.
The two year programme aims to support athlete development by enhancing knowledge, skills, behaviours and attributes in their sport through the delivery of a series of sport specific modules designed by Swim England’s staff, culminating in gaining a prestigious recognised qualification, the Diploma in Sporting Excellence. The programme is delivered through a blend of camp based and remote interaction, supported by coaches, specialist practitioners and Assessors and will be a fantastic opportunity for Tom.
When asked what it meant to him Tom said, “I am really proud to receive a place because it not only helps me with my swimming career but my education, as it attracts extra UCAS points”. He said he is particularly proud to be representing Leyland Barracudas and wants to thank Chief Coach, Gill for all her support since he was 4 years old when he wouldn’t even get in the water, and for putting up with his moody teenage years!
Congratulations Tom your selection is well deserved and we know you will make the most of the opportunity.
