Barracudas represent Team GB
Four athletes were selected to represent Team GB at the 2025 European Biathle Championships held in Turkey this week. Friday has seen them compete in the relay events with great success.
Club Captain, Tom Jepson, led the way as he competed in the Under 17’s Mens relay with team mate Dan Garland. They had tough opposition from Bulgaria, Turkey and Czech Republic but Tom got them off to a great start coming home in second place at the end of his leg. Dan managed to keep off the opposition and retain 2nd place bringing home Silver medals for Team GB.
Sister Lucie Jepson was next in action in the Ladies Under 15’s relay event where she was partnered by Ida Augustine. This was Lucie’s first experience at international level and she didn’t disappoint with the team coming home in 3rd place.
Iris Thomson was also in her first international with team mate Cordella Dampney. A fantastic debut to come home with a Bronze medal against tough opposition from Turkey.
And last, but certainly not least, was William Wiggans who was in a mixed Under 11’s relay with team mate Piper Hodgson. William was also competing for the first time for Team GB. They did a great job coming home in 4th place.
An amazing experience for them all. The families would like to give special thanks to Leyland Rotary who helped to make this possible.
