Barracudas Delight at Festival of Swimming
After months out of the water and with limited training 18 of our swimmers qualified to take part in Swim North West’s Festival of Swimming at the Aquatics Centre in Manchester last month.
With over 20 north west clubs and squads taking part it was tough competition under unusual conditions but despite this Chief Coach, Gillian Rankin, was delighted with the performances saying that the swimmers should be really proud of their achievements. We had 45 improved times, 10 top three finishes and 42 top ten performances. Our swimmers finishing in the top three were:
Hannah Morris who took 1st in the 13-14 yrs Girls 50m Fly and 100m Backstroke
Amelie Elliott who came 2nd in the 50 and 100m Breaststroke and 3rd in the 200m Breaststroke in the 15-16yrs girls.
James Handford in the 17 and over Boys where he finished 3rd in the 50m Fly and 200m Backstroke
Pia Murray in the 17 and over Girls where she finished 1st in the 100m and 200m Backstroke and 2nd in the 100m Fly events.
Congratulations also to the following swimmers who all improved their times –
