Swimming begins again …

We are delighted to announce our re-entry to the pool from Monday 27th July and back to some kind of normal. We will be welcoming back 95% of our members who have opted to return at the first opportunity. We are fortunate to have a facility to return to as it is not the case for all Clubs. Our Committee and coaching team have worked closely with the pool operator and followed all the advice from Government and SwimEngland to prepare for our swimmers’ safe return.

Training will be different for a while as we observe social distancing and begin to re-build the fitness of our athletes. Competition is going to be something for the future and something we build towards.

It is a strange time but it is also an exciting opportunity. Our athletes will be coming back to our sport having grown and developed physically in the interim. Many have remained active doing other forms of exercise and have sometimes surprised themselves with what they have been able to achieve or what they have learned. They will be bringing all this back to the pool and will have the rare opportunity to take things a little slower than normal and focus on re-building their technique and fitness. Not often we get to start again – and certainly not all of us at the same time. More than anything though it will be great to be back together doing the thing we all love.

Welcome back everyone!
